What was nice is that you get two meals out of one serving and it came in the styrofoam to go container. They gave you two pork chops each that were fork tender. They were served over rice and tasted good. The Mac and cheese was real orangy colored and with little flavor. The collards were fine. Fried okra fine. We disliked the slaw as it tasted too much like pickle relish. Lemonade and tea were fine. We enjoyed visiting with the owner.

If you're looking for food like Grandma makes, look no further! I have eaten at this location for 25 years. Their food is always delicious, hot, and right on time. This is a family-owned business that stays quite busy. Sometimes it's a little hard to sit down and eat but that is just a testimony of their loyalty from the customer base that they've built over the years of serving Montgomery.

I'm originally from Montgomery but have been moved away for a couple years now. I was coming through Montgomery headed to GA and stopped here almost by accident to grab a bite to eat for the ro and it was amazing! I got greeted with a bunch of "War Eagles" when I walked in with my Auburn gear on. From the friendly outstanding service down to the homemade southern sweet tea - this is definitely the spot to come for good home cooking. Please check it out if you have the chance! Me and my crew will be back!

Southern/Soul food has become trendy as of late. Unfortunately, much of it has been modernized, hoping to snare those who consider themselves "foodies." Pierce's Country Cooking makes no such pretense and thank goodness they don't! Some may be deterred by the exterior--don't be. It's plain Jane, has seen better days; absolutely nothing fancy. But that facade belies a true gem--traditional cooking at its best. I ordered ribs with fried okra and mac and cheese. The ribs were HUGE, meat fairly falling off the bone, with a sauce that would make a true Southerner weep for joy. I've had ribs all over the world but that sauce is up there in the top five! The fried okra was crunchy and flavorful; the mac and cheese was just what you'd expect from a down home place like this--remarkable. The folks behind the counter were friendly, the portions were generous to a fault, the prices extremely reasonable and the place was spotless. It just doesn't get much better. So if you find yourself in Montgomery--or even close--do yourself a favor and stop for a meal at this slice of Americana. You'll be very glad you did! Visited October 2016
